WorldPride NYC 2019: The 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising

We were at the WorldPride NYC 2019 which commemorated the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising yesterday. Following are some photos we took at the event. The celebrations to respect the Stonewall Era Trailblazers also underscored the importance of acknowledging the rising hate crimes, suicides, and the AIDS crisis.

According to the co-chairs/organizers Marvanne Roberto Fine and David Studinski, “While there is much to celebrate, there is more work to do. Those of us with privileges within the LGBTQIA+ community must stand shoulder-to-shoulder with those who continue to bear the brunt of oppression. We must create space, step back, share the platform, especially with our siblings who are people of color, bi+, transgender and gender non-conforming.”
