OVERVIEW

Gat Carmi, Esq. - Associate Attorney

For over 12 years at Tuckner Sipser, I have focused on helping workers who have been subject to discrimination in the workplace. I represent individuals in matters of:

Gat graduated from Tel Aviv University School of Law (LL.B.) in 2006. During her studies at Tel-Aviv University, she participated in the Micro-business and Economic Justice Clinic where she provided legal counseling to socio-economically disadvantaged individuals and groups, on all aspects of developing and running a small business.

Following graduation, she served as an intern at a prestigious Israeli boutique law firm in the litigation department and subsequently practiced as an associate in the corporate and securities regulation department of Amit, Pollak, Matalon & Co., one of Israel’s leading law firms.

In 2010, Gat obtained a Master’s degree (LL.M.) from Fordham University School of Law, magna cum laude. While at Fordham, she was a staff member of the Fordham Journal of Corporate & Financial Law, and served as a research assistant for Professor Caroline Gentile.

Gat is admitted to practice in the State of New York and in Israel. She is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, New York County Lawyers Association, New York City Bar Association and New York State Bar Association.

Gat Carmi joined Tuckner, Sipser in September 2010. She is an Associate Attorney at the firm, focusing on a variety of employment related matters including employment discrimination and wrongful termination.

Why I do what I do.

As a working mother, I know full well the demands of a demanding job and raising children. I also know full well that women are perfectly capable of balancing careers and family, and doing a great job at both.

Unfortunately at the firm we see women who are not afforded the opportunity to fulfill their potential. Instead, they are subjected to discrimination and sexual harassment. When they oppose discrimination or sexual harassment, often they suffer repercussions, such as hostile workplaces, diminished advancement opportunities, and other retaliation.

I and this firm help one client at a time. Our goal, however, is to end workplace discrimination and harassment in all forms against women. If you have suffered from illegal workplace discrimination, sexual harassment, or other wrongful conduct, please call our firm to learn how our attorneys can help.
