“Jesus freaks, gun nuts, and generic obese suburbanites” was Bill Maher’s recent characterization of Congressman Alan Grayson’s definition of the Republican Party. Grayson’s actual comment was more on point and captured the GOP lunacy and heartless stinginess perfectly:
I think there’s really three Republican parties. There’s the corporate shills, there are the religious fanatics and then there are the freedom fiends — the ones who want to make sure that you have the right to sleep under a bridge.
